Social media is part of a mass movement that's influencing where people direct their attention and how they make decisions.Whether it is deciding what products we buy, what brands we respect, where we engage politically and charitably, or how we invest our time, social media is now part of the process. Our intent is to make social media work for organizations, business owners and product/service managers who are looking to reach people in the most effective way available: person to person, conversation by conversation – initially via this amazing pool of new technologies and services called "social media". What we bring to the table As long time entrepreneurs and technologists, we've built technology businesses and leveraged online communities since the arrival of the browser in 1994 (and for Chip, since 1987 and the era of the List of Lists).More recently, we have seen first-hand what social media can do to engage an audience.We have used it to: organize our congressional districts during the Obama campaign; galvanize hundreds of environmental groups to respond to a state-wide funding freeze; bring together a local community of creatives, developers and entrepreneurs; promote the UN millennium goals; and, raise awareness of an author's book or philanthropist's pet project. As a result of our social media projects, companies started approaching us to advise them on social media and to employ the same strategies for them.Simultaneously, we were realizing this new form of information exchange was more than an evolutionary step – it's a vast leap in communication, networking and collaboration.It became clear to us that social media is a disruptive yet transformative force that, like it or not, is weaving itself into our professional and private lives. However,social media is still in its early stages.Companies need more than advice: they need a comprehensive suite of strategy, process and tools.Strategy and services, supported by tools and metrics, create the perfect suite of offerings to drive real value for organizations. We're committed to having our offerings supported by real science.We incorporate theories of online cognition and community, and test and select the best tools for social content management and measurement, and rigorously evaluate the results.We use these feedback loops for continuous improvement. Team Our founders, Christine Mason McCaull and Chip Roberson, are based in Sonoma, CA, just north of San Francisco.Christine has been a venture backed CEO in 4 ventures,and served as Chief Marketing Officer with expertise in brand development, trade marketing and online customer acquisition.Chip's experience includes developing systems and architecting software platforms, and growing a company from startup to exit. We have vertical market partners, designers, developers and data entry staff in the Bay area, Chicago, and India.We work with writers and content producers all over the world.
